How Does ThermiSmooth Work? 

The small, handheld ThermiSmooth applicator delivers radiofrequency heat energy with precision to treatment areas. The energy penetrates the skin and targets fibroblasts—cells in the deeper layers of the skin responsible for producing elastic fibers and collagen. The heat shrinks collagen and prompts the body’s healing response, stimulating new collagen and resulting in firmer skin.

What Happens During a ThermiSmooth Treatment? 

The first step is to discuss your concerns with one of our skincare specialists during a consultation. Based on the conversation, the provider creates a treatment plan and estimates the number of treatment sessions needed to achieve your goals. We usually recommend scheduling an initial series of 3 to 6 sessions.  

A ThermiSmooth treatment begins with applying a gel that helps conduct heat safely. Your provider then glides the applicator across the skin’s surface in a circular motion. It takes about 5 to 15 minutes to treat each area. During the procedure, the ThermiSmooth device adjusts its temperature as your skin gets warmer, maintaining a comfortable heat level throughout the treatment. Patients often describe the sensation as feeling like a warm massage.  

You can return to work or any other activity after the procedure, although you may notice slight redness and swelling.  

How Long Will My ThermiSmooth Results Last? 

As with other skin tightening treatments that stimulate collagen production, such as microneedling, the results emerge gradually over several months. You’ll notice improvements after each treatment session and likely see the full effects after 3 to 6 months. Follow-up appointments every 9 to 12 months can maintain the results.
