How Does ThermiVa Work? 

Like many other skin and tissue rejuvenation treatments, ThermiVa uses heat generated by radiofrequency energy. When applied to the vaginal area, the heat stimulates the body’s healing response. This response produces new collagen and elastin—proteins that are the building blocks of tighter, smoother tissue. ThermiVa tightens and tones the labia minora, labia majora, and the vaginal wall.

A woman’s vaginal muscles typically relax and weaken after giving birth or with age, often affecting sensation during intercourse and reducing sexual satisfaction, along with other concerns. ThermiVa is a safe and effective way to address these issues.

We do not recommend the procedure if you are pregnant or nursing, have an active urinary tract or sexually transmitted infection, or have recently had an abnormal pap smear. 

What Happens During a ThermiVa Treatment? 

A ThermiVa treatment is gentle and relaxing and requires no recovery time. A provider uses a smooth probe to apply the radiofrequency energy, with most treatments lasting 30 to 45 minutes. We recommend 3 treatments, scheduled 30 days apart, to produce the optimal results. You’ll notice improvement after each treatment, with the final results emerging about 2 to 3 months after your last treatment.  

ThermiVa results last approximately 1 year, although patient experiences vary. Touch-up treatments may be necessary to reverse aging’s natural effects.
