How Does Microneedling Work? 

Microneedling creates controlled wounds, triggering the body’s healing response to release a cascade of growth factors and boosting the production of collagen (the protein fibers that keep skin smooth and supple). The Collagen P.I.N. microneedling device quickly stamps the skin with a disposable tip cartridge, penetrating the skin at various depths with 36 very fine, short, sterilized needles. The treatment involves the provider moving the device across the skin and stamping it so the micro-needles penetrate to a pre-set depth. Most appointments take 60 to 90 minutes and have little to no downtime. 

How Long Will My Microneedling Results Last? 

The duration of your microneedling results partly depends on the treatment area, penetration depth, and skin condition before the procedure. Patients often see the initial results about 3 to 4 weeks after treatment. We recommend a series of treatments initially to get the desired improvements and then periodic maintenance treatments each year. Some people prolong their results by nourishing their skin with facials or professional-grade skincare products between microneedling treatments.
